Illinois passes Equal Rights Amendment, more than three decades after deadline

(Reuters) - Illinois joined 36 U.S. states on Wednesday when it ratified an U.S. constitution Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) intended to ensure women are treated the same as men under state and federal laws, more than three decades after a deadline to approve it.

President Donald Trump had not been informed about the arrest of Chinese telecom giant Huawei's chief financial officer when he dined with China's Xi Jinping, a top White House official said Sunday. "He did not know and he had no reaction afterwards," White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow said on "Fox News Sunday," denying reports Trump was "livid" that the arrest took place while he was at dinner with Xi.
